THE FADING FELLOWSHIP

Arthur's once disciplined warband shows signs of decay.

Having won a victory at Mount Badon, Artur faced the challenge of completing the work of restoration taht Ambrosius had begun.

Over the years, arthur worked tirelessly to rebuild Britain to the glory she had once known. Buildings were repaired and new laws passed to protect and bring order to the land. Arthur travelled to the more remote, neglected realms, securing alliances and local adminstrative systems to keep the peace in his absence. This post-Badonic period allowed the society and the economy to recover and the Christian Church to floruish.

According to legend, Arthur makes a transition from warrior to king. His efforts are no longer on teh battlefield, but rather the political arena.Despite the realization of peace in his land, the monotony o fhis domestic duties hang heavy on the king. The lustre of the Fellowship of the Round tAble begins to tarnish. With no immediate threat to unite them, quarrels break out amongst the knights. Endless days of revelry disgust some of the men who then leave the court to tend to their own lands. Though nobles throughout the kingdom continue to send their sons to Arthur's care, they soon become disillusioned by what they find. The king looked to busy his men with campaigns abroad, but this neither fulfilled him nor satisfied his men.

The weary cycle eventually came to an end when the apparition of the Grail appeared above the Round Table upon a shaft of light. In witnessing this marvel, all the knights pledged to seek to learn its mysteries for a year and a day, and longer if need be. This mysterious event renewed the solidarity and dedication fo the Fellowship ofthe Round Table as they went in search of the Grail.
